Your First Visit

Your first visit will take about one hour, and we ask that you bring your insurance card and identification with you. When you come in, Heidi will greet you by name and make you feel right at home. She’ll begin verifying your insurance benefits, and then take you on a quick tour of the office.

Dr. Blalock will meet with you in the exam room, where he’ll take some time to chat and get to know you as a person, in addition to learning about your health complaints.

Based on what you’ve told him, Dr. Blalock will conduct a focused exam to determine the underlying causes of your issues. He may also take X-rays, in which case he’ll show them to you and offer a preliminary review of them.

Once Dr. Blalock has gathered all the information he needs to make a diagnosis, he’ll explain what’s going on with your health and what’s causing it. He’ll outline his recommendations for care and make sure you understand the benefits, possible risks, alternatives, and what to expect in terms of feeling better. Then he’ll do a light adjustment to give you some relief and help get your body moving in the right direction.

Dr. Blalock will explain the initial phase of care, which is generally not more than four weeks. At that point, we will re-evaluate and determine your need for care going forward. He always educates patients about how chiropractic care helps correct their situation, as well as why it takes time and repetition for the corrections to hold.
