At Cardinal Physical Medicine, we understand that there can be many factors that are directly correlated to your pain. We are committed to not only uncovering those factors, but to finding a solution to mitigate their effects and leave you pain-free, happy, and healthy.

When it comes to back pain, neck pain, headaches, and spinal muscle pain, one of the most common causes are imbalances in your body’s frame.

As someone who has previously suffered from one of these imbalances in the form of severe scoliosis, Cardinal Physical Medicine’s own Dr. Richard Blalock has extensive knowledge and expertise on the subject, including extensive postgraduate training and practical application of the types of care necessary to change and correct spinal position.

Achieving an accurate diagnosis of your condition and developing an understanding of your individual needs is paramount, which is why we guide you through every step from diagnosis to treatment with care and expertise.

Our St. Peters office is equipped with an on-site digital X-ray suite, allowing us to take all of the necessary images to provide us with some of the biggest puzzle pieces when it comes to your diagnosis as well as provide an objective way to ensure that we are improving your spinal posture along the way.

What Does Spinal Posture Correction Treat?

Our spinal posture correction can assist with a number of imbalances and ailments, including but not limited to:

  • Scoliosis: A sideways curvature of the spine, which most often occurs during the growth spurt just before puberty. Most cases are mild with little to no symptoms, though it can become more severe as the patient grows older. Severe scoliosis can be painful and disabling, requiring treatment such as spinal posture correction.
  • Forward Head Posture (FHP): Also known as “Text Neck” or “Reading Neck” due to its correlation with looking down at a mobile device for extended periods. This posture problem can also be caused by sleeping with the head elevated too high, extended use of computers, or lack of developed back muscle strength.
  • Pelvic unleveling/rotation: This spinal posture correction treatment is the result of a pelvic tilt or an anatomical asymmetry. It can result in lower back pain and adds stress to your joints and lower extremities.
